About my artistic practice

I am based in Stockholm, grew up in the working class area of Alby Botkyrka, Sweden. My work often question which narratives and bodies can occupy space without being questioned, exposed to violence or made invisible by hegemonic structures in society. My medium varies between photo, video and installations but can also take form in collective processes based on the notion of 'Useful Art'.

A central theme in my artistry is the swedish Million programme. It is my starting point for orientation in my questions about narrative and bodies. Whos stories are being heard in the writing of history? Whose perspective are we highlighting when we talk about this areas? What stories are being untold, unfolding between the high-rises and the people who lived their life besides the concrete giants?

I try to aproach this questions working between a micro perspective, personal, up close and intimate. In other cases it becomes macro: the personal is then situated in the collective, making structures visible.
